    THE last time I wrote about AJ “Bazooka” Banal fighting at the New Cebu Coliseum, I woke up the next day with a nasty hangover, courtesy of Banal’s upset 10th round TKO loss to Panama’s Rafael “El Torito” Concepcion.

    DIONESIA Pacquiao, the mother of the national kamao Manny Pacquiao, definitely raised eyebrows and a few laughs when we read the news about her lavish 60th birthday bash. But I think she is merely being true to herself.

    When she raised her children as a single mother in General Santos City, I believe she never thought of being a mother of a multimillionaire. Suddenly, she became one. And the promdi mother definitely wanted to enjoy the fruits of her being Pacman’s mother. (more)

    FROM my point of view, the woman is truly Filipino, one amazed by Western lifestyle in her growing-up years and in the time she worked hard as single parent to her children.

    They’re all talking about Dionisia Pacquiao. She’s not a model, not an actress, not a singer, not a screaming feminist.

    But she could be a historical figure at this point in time for being the mother of a world boxing champion. (more)
