Is remake mania forcing a premature reincarnation of "Buffy?"

I don't know about this. Remaking “Buffy?”  To me it seems a little desperate. Like directors Kaz  and Fran Rubel Kuzui are trying to ride the Stephenie Meyer wave by reviving their old work. And even weirder is the idea of launching a new movie without Joss Whedon's involvement. According to The Hollywood Reporter:
