Visitor Information

As home to Georgia’s most visited public attraction – Stone Mountain  and minutes from numerous Atlanta area attractions, DeKalb County offers tourists numerous opportunities to enjoy their leisure time away from home. The County has numerous shopping malls, restaurants, and parks to ensure that there is something for everyone young or old.

Residents and visitors alike are attracted to its many shopping centers and regional malls where they find everything from basement bargains to high-end boutiques. While numerous national and regional chains call DeKalb home, there is an abundance of locally owned shops that are unique to DeKalb alone. DeKalb also has small, friendly neighborhood centers along with historical squares and main streets.

Once visitors tire of shopping, the County’s parks and nature trails offer relaxing walks, hikes, and other recreational activities. Whether it is the Stone or Arabia Mountain or the Fernbank Science Center or Michael C. Carlos Museum, there is something for everyone in DeKalb.

The DeKalb Chamber frequently partners with the DeKalb Convention and Visitors Bureau (www.dcvb.org) to aid visitors and travelers with crucial county information. For more information on specific attractions and to obtain information for your next outing, contact the DeKalb Convention and Visitors Bureau at 770-492-5010.
