About the Author

Born and raised in Baltimore Maryland, Ann Werner moved to Southern California in 1977. Before leaving her home town, she worked for a local radio station selling air time as well as writing radio commercials for the clients she signed. A restless soul by nature she has worked in many capacities since her arrival to California from answering fan mail for William Shatner to selling cemetery plots, designing packaging for photo albums, selling automobiles and working on promotional seminars. Studying with well known Southern California hypnotist Gil Boyne, she earned a master hypnotist certificate. She also was a member of the Dvorak and Company Acting studio where she completed a course in the Meisner technique of acting. For over seven years she was known to fans of the popular daytime drama “Days of Our Lives” as Eliana, maid to the villainous Dimera family.

An avid reader since childhood and always being told that ‘you should write a book’, the inspiration to do so presented itself resulting in her first novel The People Next Door. Published in July 2000 by Writers Club Press, an imprint of iUniverse, the novel has been well received and chosen as a discussion book for May 2001 on both iVillage.com Best Books for Book Clubs Board and Coffeerooms.com Bookmark Reading Board. The title was also chosen as selection for the month of August 2001 on the Yahoo.com Readers Room Board.

Ann currently resides in Northern Arizona where she makes her home with her three cats, Bianca Jean, Steve Louise and El Cid Knievel. She is currently at work on a new novel.
