It’s nice to see the title has been unleashed *shot for poor joke*
I do worry however about these combat parts, which by the different type of gameplay at night part, sounds like they are taking a similar route to Crash of the Titans, which was both a horrible and tragic mistake as it removed everything aout the character as what we know.
However from the 2D speed sections that have been mentioned, we won’t lose all of Sonic’s usual gameplay. It will be interesting to see how this game , and should be where they place most of their time and effort.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was reading about it just now on Wikipedia, and it said this:
“The gameplay is markedly different to recent games, in an attempt to reinvent the Sonic franchise, and will focus on two-dimensional gameplay stages, displayed in 3D, as well as fast, fully-3D on-rails stages. Gameplay will seamlessly transition between these two modes.”
I’m glad you’re taking a different approch, but I hope it keeps the great storylines in every other Sonic game in the main series.

Well, it sure kept me up all night.
Sonic is caffeine to me.
I hope this is really the awesome game everybody wants it to be.
As long as the game is fun to play, I’m all for it.
There are times of doubt, everybody has them, even me, let’s hope for the best.
What surprises me is that Sega is also one of the very few remaining major 3rd Party developers that still show commitment to one of the longest running consoles in history, the PS2.
And regardless of what I thought at the time as a former Dreamcast owner, I have to say, that it’s admirable that Sega has supported the PS2 for this long, while it will probably be the last game for this console(well, there’s also Yakuza 2), at least the console is going out with a bang.
Back to the Sega, I’m really speechless, the fact that it’s both a 2D and 3D game which such impressive graphics show Sonic Team’s commitment to this title and to please the fans.
Of course, here’s the usual questions, will there be any other characters featured? It would be nice if they had at least Knuckles, Amy and Tails, even if they were just shown in videos.
Again, speculation arrises about a new character being introduced, even though there’s nothing about it so far, not even concept art about this new supossed character.
Also, since Sonic has to traval to different parts of the world, will there be any explanation as to how he goes from one continent to another?
Will there by any boss fights? Will they be done in a similar fashing as other 3D Sonic games?
So many questions, so little time.
I’ll be waiting for the end of 2008 and hopefully, I’ll be surprised!

Heh, anyone see that picture of were-Sonic? That’s certainly going to be interesting…I hope that’s what they meant by “As the sun sets in Sonic Unleashed, a different type of adventure will awaken in Sonic’s newest quest…” and “an unusual situation that will challenge him in ways never before seen” and “when darkness sets in Sonic Unleashed players will be able to experience a completely new way to play as Sonic…” I wonder what the storyline behind that will be…

4 game play modes? … Oh no.
If this game is just hold right and jump then I’ll be very angry.. Old Sonic games had multiple paths that went left and right across the screen and above all it had PLATFORMING. Recent Sonic games are more about holding right and pushing jump every so often. I hope this new one doesnt suffer that same probelm.
