All-Around: Computed by adding each player's rank
in the following eight statistics: Scoring Average, Driving Distance, Driving
Accuracy Percentage, Greens in Regulation, Putting Average (per hole), Eagles
(holes per), Birdie Average (per round), Sand Save Percentage
Greens in Regulation: If any part of the ball is
on the putting surface and the golfer has at least two strokes remaining to
reach par, the green in considered hit in regulation. In other words, the golfer
must hit the green on a par-3 with his tee shot or hit a par-5's green by his
third shot.
Driving Distance: Measured on only two holes per
round, with the holes facing in opposite directions to negate the effect of
wind.
Driving Accuracy: Measures fairways hit on tee shots.
Total Driving: Addition of golfer's rank in Driving
Distance and Driving Accuracy.
Ball Striking: Addition of golfer's rank in Total
Driving and Greens in Regulation.
Putting Average (per hole): The stat is computed
only on holes in which the golfer reaches the green in regulation.
Sand Save: Each time a golfer hits a bunker by the
side of a green but needs only one or two additional shots to reach the hole,
he is credited with a save. The total score on the hole is not relevant.
Scrambling: Percentage of holes on which golfer
scores par or better despite failing to hit green in regulation.
Bounce back: Percentage of holes on which golfer
is over par on one hole and under par on the next.
Birdie conversion: Percentage of holes on which
golfer makes birdie after hitting green in regulation.
Ryder Cup standings: Top 10 players make Ryder Cup
team; remaining two places are filled by team captain. Points are available
for the top 10 players in each tournament, with points doubled in the year of
a Ryder Cup and doubled in all majors.
