This is off our normal beat, but during the show renewal and cancellation phase earlier in the month there was a lot of interest about whether Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni would get their contract issues resolved and return to their roles on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. From our perspective the return was never in doubt, especially once the show’s renewal was announced.
However, apparently there is still a bit of “i” dotting and “t” crossing to be done. From TV Guide:
A new deal is in the works to bring Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni back to Law & Order SVU for an eleventh season. Hargitay flew to L.A. last week to discuss the details with creator Dick Wolf, and the agreement is expected to be announced within the week.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Not only are Meloni and Hargitai fantastic actors, but unlike the other shows of the L&O franchise, they ARE the show.

NBC really can’t afford to lose them. This is their top rated scripted show, and they are up against Criminal Minds next season. NBC NEEDS them!

I am going crazy just waiting to know/ hear if MH and CM renew their contracts and if they will return. They have to return, if they do not, then I will not watch SVU anymore. MH and CM are the show and without them, the ratings will go down hill. I really hope they return. Even if MH alone return I will be happy.

Oh my goodness, yes!!! It seems as the end is almost here in our favor!!! MH and CM should be back!!!!! Thank you so much!!! I LOVE THEM!!!!!! They’re the best actors!!! I can not wait for the finale this Tuesday and the 11th season!!! Go SVU!!!!

SVU definitely should return for eleventh season with the original cast (Mariska and Chris)!!!!!
