Vacancies at The Wheel of Belfast

The Wheel of Belfast, owned and operated by World Tourist Attractions Ltd in partnership with Ulster Bank, Belfast City Council and The Department of Social Development, has been extended in its current location at Belfast City Hallfor a further twelve months.

At 60 meters in height, the wheel has 42 fully enclosed, air conditioned glass capsules, each seating up to 8 people, with full disabled access. There is also a luxury VIP capsule.

We are seeking bright, friendly, and well-presented people that have experience in customer service to run and operate this exciting new attraction. As all our positions require working outdoors in all weathers we supply company clothing. We offer a range of hours across 7 days from 10.00am to 11.00 pm and a competitive rate of pay.

Customer Service Assistants

You will be greeting customers, dealing with questions and organising queue areas, taking cash and credit card payments (full training provided) issuing and checking tickets. Having provided a short safety briefing, you will also assist the comfortable and safe loading / unloading of guests enjoying the wheel experience.

Attraction Operators (shift work)

The Attraction Operators are responsible for the safe operation of the wheel. Previous experience such as machine operator or HGV/PSV driver or experience as a mechanic/engineer will be essential, along with an aptitude for controlling a computerised operating system. You must be willing and able to concentrate on the control panel of the wheel and its operation for long periods of time. Experience / certification of working at height would be an advantage. Shift work, including overnight maintenance, is a regular feature of this function.

World Tourist Attractions, Europe's leading operator of mobile giant observation wheels, will soon be bringing a number of new wheels to cities across Europe.

We are seeking applicants for the following roles:

Attraction Manager / Assistant manager

As Attraction Manager you will be responsible for the safe, profitable and cost-effective operation of the attraction. You will require excellent team management, organisational and customer service skills, as well as being computer literate. Calm under pressure, you will have substantial previous experience of cash handling, administration, and security. Your spoken and written English will be of a high standard and you will have had at least 3 years senior management responsibility in a fast moving customer facing business. Familiarity with health and safety regulations, along with a head for heights will be an advantage. This is a full time salaried post and you will have complete responsibility for the whole attraction on a day to day basis. As an assistant manager, you may not have as much experience as the Attraction Manager, but you will have all the same attributes and the confidence to accept responsibility for the attraction on a regular basis.
