'Apprentice' finalist slams 'unfair edit'

Apprentice finalist Yasmina Siadatan has accused producers of portraying her unfairly in the show's most recent episode.

In Wednesday night's edition of the BBC One reality series, viewers saw the 27-year-old restaurant owner struggling to answer questions about her business accounts during an interview with Claude Litner.

The programme's next scene showed Siadatan appearing to describe the grilling as "very good" and "actually enjoyable" in a conversation with her fellow candidates.

However, the hopeful has now claimed that viewers were misled because she made the comments after another interview.

Siadatan told BBC News: "They cut the wrong exit which was really, really unfair. I've had an apology so that's fine."

Discussing the true sequence of events, she continued: "The whole thing went tits up and I made a complete fool out of myself. I walked out and I said: 'Guys that was just terrible - that was a really, really awful interview'."

She added: "I was slightly edited in the wrong way and they know about that and it's fine. There's no complaints and no hard feelings. It's a business programme, it's also a television programme. We're not stupid. We're aware of that."

The episode in question also saw Siadatan secure a place in tomorrow night's final alongside fellow candidate Kate Walsh.

In a statement, the show's production company Talkback Thames said: "The interview process is filmed over a day and this is edited into a one-hour programme which has to give the viewer an overview of each of the five candidates' performances.

"We have spoken to Yasmina and, as she stated, she made no complaint. Yasmina accepts that no deliberate attempt has been made to misrepresent her."
