: Does anyone have a feel for how accurate the information in the Clymer Honda Singles Manual that covers the tl125 is? Specifically the illustrations of the forks and carbs for the different years. The reason I ask is that I recently bought a 1975 tl125, identified as such by the serial numbers on the frame and engine. However, from looking at the info in the manual, it appears that I have the forks from a tl250 and the carb from a 1976 tl125s. This wouldn't be especially unusual for a bike this age, but it does become important to have the components identified when ordering parts. The forks in particular have the o-ring sealed plug with a snap ring instead of a screw in plug and the spring arrangement seems to match the pictures for the tl250.

: Thanks for any imput. I'm new to the bike and trying to sort things out.

Richard- My parts manual shows that the adjustable forks were only on the 73&74 tl125's. In 75 and 76 they have the snap rings that you describe. Please keep in mind that this is for U.S. models. I never liked Clymer or Hayes manuals because of this problem, they seem to use whatever pictures they have and this applies to their auto manuals as well. When I bought my tl I was able to get a Honda manual from my dealer, but this was about 6yrs ago.Why do you think you have a "S" carb? I know that they have diffrent part #'s and the internals have diffrent part #'s and I wonder if Honda was trying to cure the stumble that the older models had. Good luck, Gary
