Crystal Palace have been deducted one point from their end-of-season total of 57, after the Football League's independent Football Disciplinary Commission found them guilty of using an ineligible player.
Rui Fonte, a Portuguese forward, appeared as a substitute against Sheffield United on the last day of the season, 3 May, but Palace's loan agreement with Arsenal for the player had already expired.
Palace have been docked a point and fined £20,000, of which £15,000 is suspended for one season. The club still finished 15th in the Championship, despite having a reduced total of 56 points.
Rui Fonte had made nine earlier appearances for Palace, who have his brother, the defender Jose Fonte, on their books on a permanent deal.
