The Angels lost to the A's despite leading 4-0 entering the top of the eighth inning. The Halos had won each of their last 153 home games in which they had a lead of at least four runs entering the eighth inning. Prior to Wednesday night, their last such loss occurred on July 30, 2000 against the White Sox (Angels led 6-2 entering the eighth inning, lost 11-7 in 10 innings).
