Play Magazine
A timeless masterpiece that exploded my expectations. [Aug 2006, p.80]
Mother 3 only falls short of what was expected of it because, a) it is not a huge departure from its 12-year-old predecessor, and b) the waiting period was unbearably long. [Sept 2006, p.126]
NGC Magazine UK
Comfortingly familiar for "Earthbound" veterans; a bit old-fashioned for 21st century RPGers. Wait for an English version. [JPN Import; June 2006, p.38]

Bob W gave it a10:
Mother 3 retains all the quirkyness and fun of it's prequel, Earthbound, while adding an extra dose of sadness to the story, making this one of the best RPG to ever grace the GBA. It holds true to it's sloguant of "Strange, funny and heartrending.", and is a must-own to any true RPG fans, or just the toilet-humor loving gamer. Despite being only disponible in Japanese, the wonderfull sprite animations and moving music can make you understand most of what is going on. A translation pack made by the fans can be found on the Internet. "No crying until the end" will be hard to achieve with this one.

Simon R. gave it a10:
A brilliant and emotional storyline, intuitive combat, and a whimsical feeling uncaptured since the days of the SNES - this game has everything you need. EarthBound fans and old-school gamers alike won't be disappointed.
