The Burnaby Computing Science Office is located on the main floor of the Applied Sciences Building (ASB), to the west of the main staircase in the middle of the ASB atrium. The ASB itself is situated at the western edge of the campus, due south of the Bus Loop. Please refer to our Burnaby Campus Map when you get close to campus. Visitor Parking at SFU Burnaby

Parking onsite is free for staff and faculty who are coming to SFU Burnaby on official university business.

One day parking passes are available at the CS reception desk in Burnaby or at the CS reception desk in Surrey.

From the Vancouver International Airport

  • Take the main road out of the airport following signs to Vancouver/New Westminster and proceed over the Arther Laing Bridge. Follow the signs to Marine Drive (East).
  • Continue on Marine Drive until you reach Boundary Road.
  • Turn left and head North on Boundary Road.
  • Turn right onto Hastings St.
  • Follow Hastings St. East watching for signs directing traffic to SFU.
  • Stay in the right lane as Hastings St. forks. Hastings St. becomes Burnaby Mountain Parkway as it heads up Burnaby Mountain to the University.
  • Turn left where Burnaby Mountain Parkway meets Gaglardi Way. This is the entrance to the University.
  • The first building you will see is the 24 hour Information and Security Office. You can park temporarily in front. Go in and ask directions to the Applied Sciences Building (ASB).

From the Tsawassen Ferry Terminal

  • Ferry disembarks onto Hwy 17.
  • Follow Hwy 17 to the exit for Hwy 99. Take Hwy 99 south/eastbound to Surrey and Seattle.
  • Follow Hwy 99 East until it intercepts Hwy 91.
  • Exit onto Hwy 91 northbound to New Westminster.
  • Follow Hwy 91 north over the Alex Fraser Bridge.
  • Once over the Bridge follow Hwy 91A to New Westminster.
  • Keep in the right lane of Hwy 91A as it continues over the Queensborough Bridge.
  • Stay in the right lane and exit onto Stewardson Way.
  • Follow Stewardson Way through New Westminster switching to the left lane to continue as it becomes Columbia St.
  • Columbia St. becomes North Rd as you enter Burnaby.
  • Follow E. Columbia St./North Rd. to Lougheed Highway.
  • Turn left onto Lougheed Highway.
  • Turn right onto Gaglardi Way. Signs will indicate you are on the correct route for Simon Fraser University.
  • Follow Gaglardi Way all the way up Burnaby Mountain to SFU.
  • The first building you will come to is the Information and Security Office. Go in and ask directions to the Applied Sciences Building (ASB).

From the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal

  • Ferries unload onto Highway #1 East. Keep on going, over the Second Narrows Bridge and through the tunnel.
  • Continue on #1 East until you reach the Cariboo Road Exit. Take the Cariboo Road exit and go north on Cariboo Road.
  • Cariboo Road becomes Gaglardi Way.
  • Go straight up Gaglardi Way to the University. The first building you will come to is the Information and Security Office. Go in and ask directions to the Applied Sciences Building (ASB).

From the Canada / US Border (Douglas or Peace Arch Crossing)

  • Take Highway 99 North.
  • From Highway 99, take the Exit to Highway 91 North (towards New Westminster).
  • Take Highway 91 North, which leads to the Alex Fraser Bridge.
  • Continue on Highway 91 over the Queensborough Bridge (towards New Westminster).
  • Stay in the right lane to take the Stewardson Way Exit.
  • Stewardson Way becomes Columbia Street. Stay in the left lane to continue following Columbia St.
  • Columbia Street becomes North Road.
  • From North Road, turn left onto Lougheed Highway.
  • From Lougheed Hwy, turn right onto Gaglardi Way.
  • Follow Gaglardi Way all the way up Burnaby Mountain to SFU.
  • The first building you will come to is the Information and Security Office. Go in and ask directions to the Applied Sciences Building (ASB).

From the Canada / US Border (Aldergrove Crossing)

  • From I-5 take exit 256 N in Bellingham (Guide Meridian), follow Meridian north all the way to the Canadian border (about 20 min).
  • Follow 264th Street to Highway #1 West.
  • From Highway #1, take the Cariboo Road Exit in Burnaby. Follow Cariboo Road north. (signs indicate route to SFU).
  • Cariboo Road becomes Gaglardi Way.
  • Follow Gaglardi Way all the way up to SFU.
  • The first building you will come to is the Information and Security Office. Go in and ask directions to the Applied Sciences Building (ASB).

By Transit

For bus, SeaBus, and SkyTrain service in the Lower Mainland area, visit the Translink website. This site contains information on schedules, route maps and fare info, and can assist you in trip planning.

The direct bus routes to SFU - Burnaby are:

  • #135 SFU (135 BURRARD STN for return trip) from downtown Vancouver.
  • #143 SFU (143 COQUITLAM STN for return trip) from Coquitlam Centre Station.
  • #144 SFU (144 METROTOWN STN for return trip) from Burnaby Metrotown Station.

Skytrain passengers get to the Burnaby campus on the Millennium Line. Get off at the Production Way/University Station, then transfer to the #145 SFU (145 PRODUCTION WAY/UNIVERSITY for return trip).

Note: For the closest bus stop to the ASB, disembark at the bus loop (2nd stop once you're on campus). Just walk south down the path beside the waterfall and you're there!

From the Vancouver International Airport

  • Bus stops for BC transit buses are located outside ground level (level 1) of the Domestic Terminal.
  • Take Bus #424 AIRPORT STN.
  • Get off at Airport Station Exchange. Transfer to bus #98 BURRARD STN.
  • Arrive downtown Vancouver and disembark at W. Cordova and Seymour Streets.
  • Walk 1 block south to Hastings Street and west towards Granville Street.
  • On the south side of Hastings Street near Granville, take bus #135 SFU.

From the Tsawassen Ferry Terminal

  • BC Transit buses stop outside the foot passenger arrivals terminal.
  • Take Bus #620 AIRPORT STN and exit at the Ladner Exchange (be sure to hang on to your ticket for the following part of the journey).
  • From the Ladner Exchange, take bus #640 SCOTT RD STN to Scott Road station.
  • From Scott Road station, take the Expo line SkyTrain in the direction of Waterfront to Columbia Station.
  • At Columbia Station transfer to the Millennium line SkyTrain heading in the direction of VCC-Clark on the other side of the platform.
  • Disembark the skytrain at Production Way/University Station.
  • Transfer to bus #145 SFU which will take you directly to campus.

From the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal

  • BC Transit buses stop outside the foot passenger arrivals terminal.
  • Take bus #250 or #257 VANCOUVER to the intersection of Georgia and Denman streets in downtown Vancouver.
  • From Georgia and Denman, take bus #135 SFU which will take you directly to campus.

From the SFU Surrey Campus

  • From the Surrey Central SkyTrain station, board the Expo line in the direction of Waterfront station and disembark at Columbia SkyTrain station.
  • Get on the Millenium line SkyTrain heading in the direction of VCC-Clark on the other side of the platform and exit at the Production Way/University station.
  • At the Production Way/University Exchange, board bus #145 SFU which will take you directly to campus.

From the SFU Vancouver Campus

  • Catch bus #135 SFU on Hastings Street and ride it all the way to the Burnaby mountain campus.

Or alternatively, you can take the SkyTrain:

  • Walk down one block from SFU Vancouver’s Harbour Center campus towards the CP Rail Station on Cordova street which houses the Waterfront terminus SkyTrain station.
  • Take the Expo SkyTrain line in the direction of King George station and disembark at the Broadway station.
  • Make you way to the adjoining Commercial Skytrain station and board the Millenium line heading in the direction of Waterfront station.
  • Get off at the Production Way/University station and board bus #145 which will take you directly to SFU.
