Improvised singing of “Lupang Hinirang” may soon be considered a criminal act.The House committee on basic education and culture, chaired by Rep. Del de Guzman of Marikina, announced the passage on third and final reading of the measure proposing to criminalize the incorrect rendition of the National Anthem. The bill imposes two-year imprisonment and a fine of P100,000.

Chinese operator has long eluded arrest and may have thought Central Mindanao would be safe

COTABATO CITY: Finding out about a shabu laboratory operating in the neighborhood came as a big surprise for residents here on Thursday. Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) shut down Thursday a shabu manufacturing laboratory in the neighborhood of Espino District and arrested the Chinese operator who was reportedly able to elude several attempts to arrest him in separate operations in Metro Manila.
