What Is RSS?RSS is a tool for building portals of headlines and links of updated content from web sites. (See our encyclopedia entry on RSS) Readers can use RSS to monitor their favorite websites in one interface. RSS AggregatorsIn order to use RSS, you need a "news reader". Some readers work as software you run on your computer. Others are web-based and permit readers to access their feeds from anywhere. In either case, provide the software with the URLs of the feeds you wish to follow, and thereafter, the reader will keep track of your feeds, and you'll see whenever new articles are published. See uor slide show The Best RSS Feed Readers for more ideas. More Feeds and InformationThis TechWeb page provides more information on obtaining and using news aggregators. |
