Linking To Ziff Davis Media Web Content

Ziff Davis Media supports the usage of cross-linking on the Web. We encourage our own sites, and other sites on the Web, to link and summarize content that adds value for their users.

We follow certain guidelines when linking to others, and expect the same consideration from third parties who wish to link to us. The principles embodied in these guidelines include proper attribution, respect for copyrights and trademarks, and permission for commercial use.

We want to work with you! If you have any questions about this policy, please ask.

Links:
You are welcome to link from another site to Ziff Davis content. Links may include text content such as headlines and may be accompanied by brief summaries of the linked articles. You may also use inline links. If space permits we prefer that you use the title of the article as the link, and we strongly encourage citation of the source site. (Our logos may accompany a citation, but their use requires our written permission.) There is no expiration on such links, and no permission is required.

For your convenience in regularly linking to our stories, Ziff Davis Internet also offers RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds of our stories here.

Please do not:

  • Attribute a link on your site to a Ziff Davis Internet site and then link somewhere else.
  • Write and link to a summary of the Ziff Davis story which exceeds fair use guidelines.
  • Frame the Ziff Davis Internet story or otherwise present the content as your own.
  • Use any images from Ziff Davis stories on your site.
  • Use any of our logos without written permission.

Reproducing Our Content:
Beyond widely recognized "Fair Use" guidelines defined by U.S. copyright law, any other reproduction of Ziff Davis Media content requires our written permission. Some types of reproduction may require you to pay a licensing fee. Types of use that require our written permission include:

  • Use of Ziff Davis content in advertisements or promotions;
  • Use of Ziff Davis trademarks or logos. For more information on award logo programs like PC Magazine Editor's Choice, click here.
  • Use of substantial quotations or excerpts, or full text, of Ziff Davis articles.

Personal, Non-commercial Use:
Readers may download, reformat and print Ziff Davis Media editorial content for personal, non-commercial use. You may also include excerpts of content in memos, reports and presentations that do not have a commercial use. When excerpting, please include the notation, "Used with permission from Ziff Davis Publishing Holdings Inc. Copyright © 200_. All Rights Reserved."

How to Get Permission:
Contact our Rights and Permissions Department at permissions@ziffdavis.com.

Third Party Content: Text, photos, graphics, audio and/or video material supplied by third parties, such as Reuters, and published by Ziff Davis, may not be directly or indirectly reproduced, published, distributed, modified, performed or broadcast, in any medium. Without limiting the foregoing, no such third party materials, or any portion thereof, may be stored in a computer except for your personal and non-commercial use.

No Liability:
Neither Ziff Davis nor any third party will be liable for any delays, inaccuracies, errors or omissions in any content published by Ziff Davis, or in the transmission or delivery of all or any part thereof. By linking to or reproducing any Ziff Davis or third party content, you hereby irrevocably release and discharge Ziff Davis and any third party provider, and their respective affiliates and the officers, directors, employees and agents of the foregoing, from any and all claims, causes of action, costs, damages and expenses of any type and nature whatsoever, arising out of or related to such content.

Terms of Use:
All use of any Ziff Davis content also is governed by our Terms of Use.

Effective Date: September 13, 2004
