Fiat, Worldspace in satellite radio deal

MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Fiat SpA unit Fiat Group Automobiles SpA and the Worldspace group signed a commercial agreement to distribute satellite radio services, according to a statement released late yesterday.
Worldspace, the US satellite radio provider, plans to broadcast 40-50 satellite channels in Italy from end-2008, one of which will be exclusively dedicated to the network and clients of Fiat (nyse: FIA - news - people ) Group Automobiles, it said.
From end-2009, Fiat will also offer to its clients the fitting of Worldspace radios on some of its Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia models, as well as portable satellite radios, it added.
