dac-46-logo.pngThe 46th Design Automation Conference (DAC 2009) co-sponsored by ACM, the EDA Consortium and IEEE, July 26 to 31 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, is the premier event for the design of electronic circuits and systems, and for the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry. Advance registration deadline is June 29.

graph-09-logo.pngSIGGRAPH 2009, the international conference on computer graphics and interactive techniques, is expected to attract some 25,000 attendees, offering exhibits, a wide-ranging technical program, and the popular Computer Animation Festival. Early registration closes June 26.

Check Scam Alert

The Association has become aware of a check fraud scheme where fraudulent checks that appear to come from the Association for Computing Machinery are being used to purchase items from Craigslist or possibly eBay. The Association does not make such purchases. You should contact your local police authorities if you receive one of these fraudulent checks.

Call for Distinguished Member Nominations
The prestigious ACM Distinguished Member designation recognizes those individuals in the top 10% of all professional members. Conferred upon those whose contributions have had a significant and lasting impact on the advancement of technology, applicants must also have at least 15 years of professional experience and 5 years of continuous ACM professional membership. The deadline for nominations is July 31, 2009.

ACM's Job Board has relaunched with new and updated graphics, easier-to-navigate categories for both job seekers and employers, and a new resumé data parsing system that allows users to simply upload résumés as a Word or PDF document.  Visit ACM's Job Board to post jobs, post a resumé in the Resumé Bank, view job openings, and more.

The Journal of the ACM (JACM) is seeking a new Editor-in-Chief. The committee will start evaluating candidates after July 1. For more information please visit the JACM home page.

ACM Digital Library Employs New Search Technology: New platform adds more powerful search capability. Read more on the New DL Search information page and in the Press Release.

ACM-W awards scholarships to women students for attendance at research conferences. Currently approximately 12 scholarships of up to $500 each are awarded in 6 funding cycles per year. The scholarships are open to women internationally at all levels of study.
