This is a clip from one of my favorite Walt Disney movies, from 1971 "Bedknobs and Broomsticks". The song is entitled, "Portobello Road" with the lovely and talented Angela Lansbury and also starring David Tomlinson.

  • Did the Portobello street market exist before the 1980s like in the movie? Or is it really a fairly recent street event in London?

  • @Ketsuname I believe that the Portobello street market has been around for a long time.

  • I was very upset when I went to Portabello road myself, and no one was singing this.

  • @pppdwandcpfanno1 You should have started singing. You could have made it happen with others joining in and then the dancing would start.....

  • 4:22 it's kinda like the pre-Robot Robot.

  • 2:14 Brucie! Nice to see you, to see you nice!

  • @SanJoseCornudo Hah! My uncle was paralized by a German Sniper in France. Americans parachuted into France to help the locals. (Lafayette we are here! - you know about that?) America didn't suffer? What about Pearl Harbor, silly person? The US soldiers who helped to liberate some of the camps? Every nation came together during WW2. It was a unity this world doesn't understand anymore. Oh! You're mind probably thinks simply because we didn't fight on OUR shores it means nothing. Pfft.

  • Oh this brings back memories!

  • @pppdwandcpfanno1 i was thinking that id sing it if i went there but wud b looked at like i was retarded

  • Rewatching this scene just reminds me of why this was my favorite live-action Disney film growing up

  • The movie industry lacks almost total imagination today. They spend all of their money and put all of their effort into (lame and unrealistic) special effects and actors that really can not act.I can't think of a recent film, particularily a Disney film, that had a good story. This movie has it all.Even the special effects in here are better and have a much realer quality compared to most made nowadays.
