Channel:bitfolk/Twitter Bot
From Blitzed
Some members of the channel persist in using Twitter, even carrying conversations that originated on Twitter into the channel. Should we have a Twitter bot to gate channel members' twitters into IRC?
This is not a vote yada yada
[edit] Yes
- I don't see any difference between this and "planet" for blog updates.
- I'm a very eager to report the fact that I am "At St Pancras International." to the channel via twitter; it's not as if users who don't want to have their twitter status announced have to, nor do users who do not want to see the announcements have to due to the
/ignorefeature available on most IRC clients.
- I support the use of WIDE NOTICES to keep the channel updated with my mundane life
- Meh, why not.
- I agree, why not?
- Quite. I usually don't agree with the "well you can /ignore it" argument because you still know that the pointless crap is going into the channel. But, hey, whatever, planet sets a precedent and I like planet, so....
[edit] No
- More noise.
- No, and there shouldn't be a planet bot neither
- What they said.
If lots of people hate the idea then we might just have it send private NARROW notices to those who are interested.
