Islington Council

Council and Democracy

Image of Islington Town Hall

The role of Islington Council is to make decisions in the community’s best interests. It is important that you, as residents of the borough, have a say in those decisions and are able to put across your opinions on issues that directly concern you and your community.

This area of the site explains how you can get involved in those decisions, how you can vote, and how you can contact your councillor, MP or MEP.

You can get news here too and stay up to date with everything that’s going on within the council. This includes election results, committee decisions and policy changes.

You can also:

  • find out when committees meet and what they discuss
  • read about review committees and how they help to improve council services
  • understand why we pay council tax and where that money goes

For more information on council meetings and reports, including review committees and other committee details, click on the Democracy in Islington link, under the main navigation list on the left side of this page.
