Cllr Roderick BluhWelcome to the Council and Democracy pages of Swindon Borough Council’s website. Since joining the Council I am very proud to have worked with my colleagues to deliver a much-needed transformation to the Council’s services moving us from one of the poorest performing in the country to one of the fastest improving.

I was thrilled in May 2006 to have been elected as leader of the Conservative Group to lead the administration. It is an incredibly exciting time to be taking on such an important role with the “Transformation of Swindon” at the heart of our agenda, whether it is driving improvements in the Council’s performance, regenerating the quality of the town’s buildings and public spaces or modernising the way we work with our partners and residents in the Borough, the Administration is absolutely committed to achieving the highest possible outcomes for all those who live and work in Swindon.

We are a committed, open and accountable Administration. Despite working against a background of colossal budgetary constraints, we have delivered low council tax increases while radically improving services. A lot done with a lot more to do....

Cllr Roderick Bluh,
Leader of Swindon Borough Council
