The Economy: More News on the Coming Recession

Politics, The Economic Beat

CBS Marketwatch is reporting the American Economic Association members see the recession coming, and predict it will be severe, with Prime Mortgage losses in the $400-600 Billion range.

Further, they’re predicting that growth for at least the first two quarters of 2008 will be zero to negative.

The only question that appears to remain is how much worse the second half of the year will be. Common expectations are that the downturn will continue to worsen, until it starts to recover somewhere in roughly 2010.

So, as I said December 12th, November 8th and October 4th the economy is in a bad way, and it looks like the rest of America is slowly starting to notice. We haven’t seen the gas price issues I feared, and that’s for the good, but the rest of what I’ve worried about looks to be coming this way, soon.

Well at least they have planned a point for it to end. Also really glad gas prices haven’t exploded.
