The Long Family in Maine, Nova Scotia, and Ireland

History of the Long Family

The William Long family came from Kilkenny County, Ireland to Nova Scotia, Canada in 1796. I believe that several generations lived in King's County, Nova Scotia including my relatives James Long and his wife Margaret (O'Leary).

It is not known whether the Irish crest of the Long family shown here was given to any of the ancestors of the Long's listed here. I hope to determine this as I research relatives back to Ireland.

If you have any information pertaining to any Long's in Kilkenny County, Ireland, I would love to hear from you!
