Biosecurity Services Group
Welcome to the Biosecurity Services Group of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. The Biosecurity Services Group integrates the functions of the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service; Biosecurity Australia; the biosecurity parts of Product Integrity, Animal and Plant Health division; and the Quarantine and Biosecurity Policy Unit. The new structure will lead to better service delivery along the biosecurity continuum (pre-border, border and post-border) and improved biosecurity risk management.
More information on the Biosecurity Services Group.

Australia is free from some of the world’s major agricultural and aquatic pests and diseases, and is a world leader in animal welfare.  This ‘clean and green’ status provides us with a major trading advantage and access to overseas markets - essential to the economy because Australia exports around 75 per cent of its agricultural products.

The Biosecurity Services Group protects our animal and plant health by placing a high priority on education and awareness to prevent pest and disease incursions, and ensures robust and tested response plans are in place should an outbreak occur.
