A domain name may help you promote your name, brand and image on the web ('www.yourname.com.au' and 'you@yourname.com.au' for example) and may make your web and email addresses easier to remember. In some circumstances, having your own domain can give you more credibility if you're a business.

• The first step is to think of a domain name you'd like, then see if it's available.
• Your domain name can contain Western alphabet letters, numbers and dashes (-),
• You can't start or end with a dash or use consecutive dashes (--).
• You can't use spaces or any other punctuation marks.
• A full email address (e.g. jack@yourdomain.com.au) must be between 2 and 68 characters long.
• Your Domain Name must be unique.
