Allen to visit the Irish; Buckeyes host Floyd

Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis and his staff hosted a large and very talented group of prospects on official visits last weekend as the Fighting Irish took on USC. Expect the same this week -- but to a much lesser degree.

Defensive lineman Beau Allen (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) travels to South Bend this weekend for his second official visit. Allen has previously made an official visit to Wisconsin. He also plans to make official visits to Minnesota and Stanford, as well as one other school, yet to be determined.

Linebacker Christian Jones (Winter Park, Fla./Lake Howell) is also set to make an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend. At one time it was thought that Jones would wind up at either Florida or Florida State. However, that no longer is necessarily the case and Jones seems wide open as he prepares to visit the Fighting Irish. Other schools under consideration include Miami, USC, LSU and Michigan.
