Connected Water

The Connected Water website has been developed to progress a coordinated approach to managing surface and groundwater resources in Australia. It is intended to provide an up-to-date resource for water managers, policy makers and catchment management groups.

The site presents an overview of the land and water issues involved in integrated water resource management. It also explains the nature and implications of interactions between surface water resources - such as rivers, lakes and streams - and groundwater resources.

The site provides a toolkit outlining practical methods for assessing connectivity of these water resources in your catchment.

Information can be accessed on some of the management and policy options useful in taking an integrated approach to managing water resources.

This site will be regularly updated with new information of relevance to the integrated management of water resources. Please provide feedback or address information that will make the site more valuable to users, by contacting connectedwater@brs.gov.au

This website is coordinated by the Bureau of Rural Sciences and developed and funded through the National Groundwater Committee, Australian, State and Territory Government agencies and the Natural Heritage Trust.
