Nearly 2m see Wilson put Two Feet in the Grave
Actor Richard Wilson kicked some life into BBC1’s ratings last night with his documentary on death attracting a peak audience of 1.9m (13.5%).
According to overnight figures from Attentional, Richard Wilson: Two Feet in the Grave was watched by an average audience of 1.6m (15.2%) between 10.45pm and 11.45pm, beating every other channel at the time.
The ratings toppled the second instalment of ITV’s To Catch a Paedophile, which drew 1.4m (11.5%) between 10.35pm and 11.35pm.
The documentary, which followed the Metropolitan Police Paedophile Unit going undercover online to catch ‘groomers’, peaked at 1.7m (11%) for the first five minutes.
Over on C4 between 10.35pm and 11.05pm, Derren Brown fooled 620,000 (4.4%) in a repeat of the series Derren Brown: Trick of the Mind. A further 105,000 (1.7%) watched on C4+1.
Five’s CSI:NY held 1.6m (9.1%) between 10pm and 11pm, while a Newsnight’s focus on the Labour Party conference on BBC2 drew 900,000 (7%).

At 9pm, Jamie’s American Road Trip continued to prove a ratings banker for C4, with 2.1m (9.3%) tuning in for the penultimate episode. Another 343,000 (2.2%) caught up on C4+1.
But it failed to speed past BBC1’s Crimewatch which won the hour with 3.8m (16.8%). Over on ITV1, The Fixer scored a lowly 2.8m (12.4%) for the hour, down on last week by 400,000.
Elsewhere, BBC2’s documentary The Choir – Boys Don’t Sing Revisited serenaded 2.6m (11.4%) while CSI:Miami on Five thrilled 2.2m (10%).
