The Fixer thrills 3.8m

ITV1’s hitman drama The Fixer returned last night in thrilling fashion, edging out Traffic Cops and Jamie Oliver’s latest cooking show to win the 9pm hour.

The Fixer averaged 3.8m (16.7%) for the slot, but viewers trailed off during the debut instalment of the second series. The first 15 minutes was watched by 4.3m (18.8%) but by 9.45pm, only 3.5m (15.4%) were sticking around.

BBC1’s repeat of Traffic Cops in comparison drew 3.6m (15.8%) across the same time, but built its audience from 3.3m (14.7%) to 3.8m (16.5%) over the hour.

Meanwhile on C4, TV chef Jamie Oliver proved he still could pull in the numbers, with 2.8m (12.2%) tuning in for the first part of Jamie’s American Road Trip. A further 296,000 watched on C4+1.

BBC2 had 2.5m (10.9%) tune in for the start of a new series of The Choir: Unsung Town. Five’s CSI: Miami proved reliable with 2.1m (9.3%) watching.
