Want to pull a 2.5 tonne trailer and not even know its there?
Want to pass a Merc 500sl going uphill at 230Kph?
Want to corner at any speed?
Want 23 mpg at 100mph?

I could go on and on....this is the most powerful diesel engined car in the world.

The Volvo is easily the equivalent of the Toureg and betters it in internal space and looks.... Why is it not included in this list?

What happened to the Independent?

Unless you actually have to tow a massive trailer, I don't really see a justifiable reason for owning one of these. Any decent estate will do the same, and not hog as much space and petrol. I for one hate it when I'm out on my motorbike and I come up behind some joker in a massive SUV that I can't see past and that creates more air distortion than a Boeing 747 behind it. Prepare to be overtaken with a prejudice.

Don't think I've felt the need to repeat this one since I was about 14, but this article really stinks of something that really isn't appropriate on the Independent's front page. What's the difference between a hedgehog and any of these vehicles? A hedgehog has the pricks on the outside of course; this is even more apposite than 30-odd years ago.
The only good SUV is a dead SUV

Thank you SUV drivers for blocking everyone else's view of the road, espeically at junctions and roundabouts.

Thanks for taking up two parking spaces, and pushing everyone else into the hedge on country lanes.

Thanks also for driving something much more likely to kill pedestrians and other roads users, and being less able to brake or go round an accident.

Finally, thanks for unescessarily wasting rapidly dwindling supplies of oil for which there is no alternative and helping to push up fuel prices.

The ten best SUVs are dripping in paint stripper, billowing with smoke as flames start to take hold.
