Travel Authorisation To US
From January 12, Singaporeans heading to the United States must obtain travel authorisation at least three days ahead of their trip. Otherwise, they may be denied boarding, experience delayed processing, or be refused admission at a US port of entry.

The US embassy in Singapore said travellers can apply through the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) at the Department of Homeland Security's ESTA website. There is no fee for ESTA authorisation. More details here.

Americans to get free Tussauds entry for Obama inauguration
Madame Tussauds is to give US citizens free entry to the London tourist attraction on January 20, to mark Barack Obama's inauguration as US president.

Visitors to the waxwork museum will get to see the new model of Obama without paying at Tussauds, whose daily entrance charges start at just over 12 pounds (US$18). The Obama wax figure will be set in a mock-up of the Oval Office, where the US-president elect will finally take up his post this month after his historic November 4 election win.

All US citizens will get free entry for the day "on presentation of valid documentation," said a Tussauds spokesman. - AFP
