Jay celebrated his first season as a young professional by captaining Arsenal’s Under-18s to the FA Youth Cup and Academy League cup ’double’.

But perhaps that shouldn’t come as a surprise; the teenager first captained the Academy at the age of 16.
The versatile midfielder was an integral part of last season’s FA Youth Cup success, scoring winning goals against Aston Villa and Tottenham in addition to strikes against Sunderland and Liverpool. As well as the stellar performances at Under-18 level, Jay caught the eye for Neil Banfield’s Reserves at left-back, in midfield and as centre-forward, notching against West Brom in the season’s second-string finale

Having been on the bench in the Carling Cup and Premier League in 2008/09, the ambitious teenager will no doubt be targeting an Arsenal debut this season. However, he has joined Championship side Blackpool for an initial one-month loan deal.
