Although still Arsenal ladies general manager and first-team kit manager Vic Akers stepped down after 22 years in charge of the most successful women’s team in England.
Vic completed 22 seasons with Arsenal Ladies and has enjoyed an extraordinary amount of success in that period.
Last season’s trophy haul of Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup were the 30th, 31st and 32nd honours that the side won during his tenure, breaking many records along the way.
His final game in charge was a dramatic title clinching victory away at Everton, when a single goal from Suzanne Grant snatched the league for the Gunners and completed the 'treble'.
The finest achievement Vic has overseen, though, came in the 2006/07 season – when Arsenal Ladies pulled off an unprecedented ‘quadruple’ of all three major domestic honours and a superb UEFA Cup triumph, beating top Swedish outfit Umea to take the trophy to England for the first time.
