E. coli levels at the Lake of the Ozarks beaches this year were the worst in recent years, according to data released this past weekend. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources data said two lake beaches should have been closed 11 times this summer because of high levels of E. coli.
A couple of times a week, a van rolls up in the parking lot of the Lucile Bluford Library. Waiting patiently for the vehicle’s arrival are library patrons who live in the neighborhood. Right there in the parking lot, patrons get the books and magazines they’ve pre-ordered.
