In the wake of the increasing threat perception facing the national Capital ahead of the Commonwealth Games to be held here next year, the Centre has sanctioned 29 new police stations and an additional manpower of 6,478 personnel for the Delhi Police. Union Home Minister P Chidambaram announced the measures on Tuesday while presenting the monthly report card for August here. With this, the total number of police stations in the Capital will increase to 155.
