11/10/07  KO 1  GOLDEN JOHNSON (overwhelmed Johnson, whose best work was done at 135-140 lbs., in 2:28 of 1st round.  Johnson hit the deck 3 times after Margarito landed 59 of 99 power shots.)

 7/14/07  L 12  PAUL WILLIAMS (outworked by Williams, yes Margarito, who holds the all time CompuBox record with 1675 total punches thrown vs. Joshua Clottey, threw just 652 total punches(54 per round), landing 181.  Whirlwind southpaw Williams landed 288 of 1256 total punches (23%-105 per round).  Margarito avg’d just 41 punches thrown per round over first six rounds, then 68 per round over last six rounds.  Williams had a 205-165 edge in power connects.  Margarito had the edge in power connects in just four of twelve rounds, hurting Williams in the seventh and again in the eleventh, opening a cut over Williams eye.  Scoring: 116-112 W; 115-113 W 2x).

12/2/06  W 12  JOSHUA CLOTTEY  (threw a CompuBox record for all weight classes 1675 total punches, breaking Zack Padilla’s mark of 1596 set on 12/15/93 vs. Ray Oliveira.  That 140 punches thrown per round- The welter. avg. is 58 thrown per round.  Margy had a 337-207 edge in total connects vs. the counter-punching Clottey, who landed 47% of his power shots (170 of 365 to 271 of 833- 33% for Margarito).  Clottey outlanded Margarito in power shots in round two (24-18); three (20-15) and four (24-23) before injuring his left hand in round four.  Margarito injured his right wrist in round five, but he still managed to throw 197 total punches in the round, #4 all time for all weight classes and a welterweight record.  Scoring: 116-112 M 2x and 118-109 M.)

(4/23/05  KO 5  KERMIT CINTRON (much hype- not much fight, as Margarito, defending his wbo title,  controlled action after cutting Cintron over right eye in 3rd round.  Cintron down twice in4th and twice more in fifth before end came at 2:12 of fifth.  Tony outlanded Cintron 38-19 in power shots over last 3 rounds.
2/18/05  KO 10  SEBASTIAN LUJAN (“Maguina de Gulpes” (“The Punching Machine”) Margarito landed 399 of 1157 total punches (34%) IN 10 ROUNDS!!! vs. the game Lujan, who left Atlantic City with the top of his left ear dangling from his head.  298 of Margarito’s connects were power shots, landing 49%.  Lujan actually outlanded Margarito over the first two rounds-then it was all Margarito as he avg’d 136 punches per round over the last 6 rounds-landing 54% of his power shots in the process and 116 per round for the fight- DOUBLE THE WELTERWEIGHT AVG.  Margarito’s 1157 total punches were #4 all time for welterweights-IN 10 ROUNDS!!! Lujan went 159 of 747 (21%), averaging 75 punches per round.  Scoring thru 9: 87-84 M; 88-83 M; 88-83 M.)

9/11/04 TL 10 DANIEL SANTOS (moved up in weight to challenge Santos in rematch of 7/21/01 NC 1, when Margarito was unable to continue after headbutt to right eye.  This wasn’t pretty either.  Santos weighed close to 170 lbs by fight time.  Outlanded Santos 158-126, landing 28% of his 58 punches per round.  Also had 131-96 edge in power connects.  Santos rocked Margarito early, before Margarito recovered to stagger Santos in 5th.  Margy cut from accidental headbutt in 6th, worsened by 9th round.  Scoring: 86-85 M; 87-84 S; 86-85 S.
