Andy Pettitte allowed one run over six and one-third innings to earn his 16th postseason victory in the Yankees' 5-2 win over the Angels. That broke a tie with John Smoltz for the all-time lead in postseason wins. It was Pettitte's fifth win in a potential series-clinching game, and that also broke a tie with Roger Clemens, Catfish Hunter and Dave Stewart for the all-time high. That's the micro; here's the macro: Pettitte has played in eight League Championship Series - seven with the Yankees and one with the Astros - and his team advanced to the World Series in each of them. No one else has played for as many LCS-winning teams as Pettitte. Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera have played for seven.
