CHILDREN LEARN WHAT THEY LIVE

If a child lives with He learns
	criticism to condemn
	hostility to fight
	ridicule to be shy
	shame to feel guilty
	tolerance to be patient
	encouragement confidence
	praise to appreciate
	fairness justice
	security to have faith
	approval to like himself
acceptance & friendship to find love in the world

LETTER FROM A FRIEND

Dear Friend. How are you? I just had to send a note to tell you how much I care about you.

I saw you yesterday as you were talking with your friends. I waited all day hoping you would want to talk with me too. I gave you a sunset to close your day and a cool breeze to rest you - and I waited. You never came. It hurt me - but I still love you because I am your friend.

I saw you sleeping last night and longed to touch your brow so I spilled moonlight upon your face. Again I waited, wanting to rush down so we could talk.

I have so many gifts for you! I try to tell you in blue skies and in the quiet green grass. I whisper it in leaves on the trees and breathe it in colors of flowers, shout it to you in mountain streams, give the birds love songs to sing. I clothe you with warm sunshine and perfume the air with nature scents. My love for you is deeper than the ocean, and bigger than the biggest need in your heart!

Ask me! Talk with me! Please don't forget me. I have so much to share with you!

I have chosen you and I will wait - because I love you.

Your friend,
JESUS

TAKE TIME

TAKE TIME to think -
it is the source of power.
Take time to read -
it is the foundation of wisdom.

TAKE TIME to play -
it is the secret of staying young.
Take time to be quiet -
it is the moment to seek God.

TAKE TIME to be aware -
it is the opportunity to help others.
Take time to love and be loved -
it is God's greatest gift.

TAKE TIME to laugh -
it is the music of the soul.
Take time to be friendly -
it is the road to happiness.

TAKE TIME to dream -
it is what the future is made of.
Take time to pray -
it is the greatest power on earth.

TEEN CREED

Don't let your parents down -
  They brought you up.
Be humble enough to obey
  You may give orders someday.
Choose friends with care,
  You become what they are.
Guard your thoughts:
What you think - you are.
Choose only a date
Who would make a good mate.
Be master of your habits
  or they will master you.
Don't show-off when you drive.
Drive with safety and arrive.
Don't let the crowd pressure you.
  Stand up straight for Jesus.
    Be a Teen for Christ!

THE MIRACLE OF FRIENDSHIP

There's a miracle of
Friendship that dwells
within the heart,

And you don't
know how it
happens or
where it gets
its start...

But the happiness
it brings you always
gives a special lift,

And you realize that Friendship
is God's most perfect gift

DISEDERATA

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant, they, too, have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons. They are vexations of the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about; for in the face of all aridity and enchantment, it is perennial as grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham and drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.
