John W. Music of Van Lear died Wednesday November 18, in Riverview Manor Nursing Home, 

Mr. Music was a retired miner born January 17 1904, in Johnson County, the son of Christopher 
and Claricia Castle Music. 

He was survived by his wife, Louise Witten Music, four sons, Walter, Larry Music of Ashland, 
John and James Music of Michigan, and Jack Music of Van Lear, five daughters, Nola Davis, 
Ashland, Helen Music, Van Lear, Bobbie Jones and Billie Holland and all of Michigan; two 
brothers, McKinnley Music of Ohio, and Kelly Music of Nippa; 27 grandchildren and 15 great 

Funeral services were held Saturday November 21, at Independent Freewill Baptist Church, Van 
Lear, with Lee Music, Otis Bowling and Charles Banks officiating.

Burial was in the family cemetery at Van Lear with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of

Paintsville Herald LOUISE MUSIC Van Lear resident, Louise Elizabeth Music, 81 died Wednesday March 1, in King's Daughter's  Hospital, Ashland. Mrs. Music was born April 28, 1907 in Johnson County, the daughter of James and Nola Crider  Witten Salyers. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Music in December 1981. Surviving are four sons, John Kelly Music of Buckley, Michigan, James E. Music of Michigan  Heights,Michigan, Walter Music of Van Lear, and Jackie Music of Hazel Park, Michigan; five  daughters, Betty Helen Music of Van Lear, Bobby Joyce Jones of Warren, Michigan, Billy Jewel  Holland, of Michigan Heights, Libby C. Rhodus, of Southfield, Michigan, and Nola K. Davis, of  Flatwood; three brothers, Walter Salyers, and Russell Salyers, both of Sitka, and James Salyers  of Indiana; one sister,Julia Ashby, of Paintsville; 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday March 4, in Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church, with Revs. Charles Banks and Lee Music officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery at Van Lear with the Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of  arrangements. Pallbearers included Tim Music, Kelly Music, Garry Music, Gilbert Music, Chris Music and Wesley  M. Davis.
