  GameSpot's Community Game Night returns!

  About time.

  - Game Night Returns: Stop by on Tuesday 4/7/09 to participate in the first game night of the year. The game will be Left 4 Dead on the PC or 360. I've heard that we might get an emblem for participating:

  

  Today I bought Left 4 Dead for the PC (no 360 here) and I can't wait to be owned again...

  NOTE: If you can't participate in the CGN due to Timezones or for another reason, you can always receive the emblem through another kind of participation. On Wednesday JodyR will post a zombie trivia. Another thread will be created for this little activity and everyone can participate regardless if they were in-game on Tuesday night or not. More details can be found here.

  In my opinion, having a second chance to earn the emblem is a very nice idea. Also, in my country it's midnight, the perfect hour to start a zombie marathon.

  Playstation 2 revisited #2

  Previously...

  For those who likes simulators and racing games, Gran Turismo 3 is the perfect game available for the PS2.Besides that, its longevity is enormous, you just need a memory card and DON'T delete the file because you might want to play it again.Let's see, currently I have about 68% and even I thought that I had deleted the file but apparently my progress is still there. Probably I am not going to reach 100% this time but I have to add that GT3 looks really great for the Playstation 2 in terms of graphics. In addiction, it made me think that it's been a very long time since a new GT game,probably next year?

  The SOCOM series have been one of my favorite series and I have ALL the game of the series(excluding Confrontation).Over the years, I think the franchise needs a breath of fresh air, because who has played all the games, you know that the objectives are pretty much the same but it is always great to replay them...interesting...The games become easier with experience and because I like a good challeging game, I think I have played enough for this time.

  Well...an RPG. I've played two or three hours and I think this kind of RPG's are not for me.At least I am being honest.However, every RPG fan should play FFX because it's one of the best RPG's ever.What I like about FFX? The amazing cut-scenes that this game offers.I have not played a good number of RPG's until now, the last one I think it was Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, maybe I'll get Fallout 3 in a near future.

  Playstation 2 revisited

  I am going to start a blog series mainly for the purpose of showing some great games of the old-generation of consoles. I have a large PS2 collection but this time I am not going to play them all again, just the ones that are my favorites.It's been a while since the last time I played my good ol' PS2. It is not the same as its bigger sister but it still looks good and I recommend it. It's working for 6-7 years and I hope many more!

  I have played Black, as you might know it's one of my favorite games for the PS2.The objectives for each mission are simple and for most the FPS games: Shoot anything that moves; shoot anything that doesn't move; make it to the next objective with ammo to spare.However, the game is somewhat short and to be honest I really don't understand how it ends. I also have my complains about the game, I think the developers forgot some extra checkpoints in the game, because if you die, you have to start from the latest checkpoint, and sometimes move 100 kills back. In other words, you have to think very carefully if you don't want to start again. In terms of graphics, it doesn't surprise now but they had a great potential 3 years ago. It is really a great game for the fans of the genre. Althought I agree with the GS review, I'd give this game an 8.0.

  I still have a few more games that I want to replay, such as MOH:Frontline, GOW I & II, Splinter Cell, POP series, Resident Evil 4 and others.

  NOTE:In my latest blog, the first lines were true, my PS3 went for repair and I still have have my PS2 for gaming.The other part was obviously not true because I don't use a donkey as my car, nor Gears of War II is coming to the PS3...
