  • Has impressed fans with his amazing and breath-taking arsenal of moves.
  • Formally left Mitsuharu Misawa's WAVE faction and formed a union with Takeshi Rikio on 1/26/2003, and then in February Rikio's tag partner Takeshi Morishima joined, which merged into Takeshi RikiMaru.
  • Picked up a pretty big accomplishment when he won the 4th Stage of the Super J Cup hosted by Osaka Pro on 2/21/2004. Marufuji got past Jun Kasai in the first round, Garuda in the semi-final, and Osaka Pro ace Takehiro in the final in 14:05 with an avalanche-style Shiranui. All this thus furthering his status as a superstar next generation junior heavyweight.
  • New Japan trueborn, ex-Pancrase star Minoru Suzuki entered NOAH in Summer 2004. Marufuji had a singles match vs. Minoru Suzuki in September, and weeks later Suzuki took him under his wing and they have formed a successful and popular tag team.
