The role of the Thailand in the Second World War has often been overlooked by the majority of history books, with the kingdom often being inaccurately labelled as part of Japan's occupied territories or as a puppet of the Japanese. As shall be seen, Thailand was as much an effective and troublesome ally to both the Japanese Empire and the Allied Powers.
It is the purpose of this website to attempt to elucidate upon the role of Thailand in the Far Eastern Theatre of the Second World War; articles pertaining to military and political issues of the day will be gradually added. The focus is currently on the forgotten Thai military response to the Japanese invasion on December 8, 1941.
Articles concerning the Seri Thai Movement, the Thai Offensive in the Shan States, and the French-Thai War will soon follow.
