Local and Family History ...

Welcome to Local and Family History online! We have a wealth of information about Gateshead's heritage and you'll find lots of genealogy help here too.

From October 2009 our Local Studies Library will be closed for 8 months as part of the Central Library's refurbishment.

You will still be able to access resources from rooms in Central Library, Gateshead Old Town Hall and from our new service at Gateshead Heritage @ St. Mary's. Please visit our Local Studies pages for more information.
