F&E System Route 3 from Route 299 near Weaverville to Route 5 near Yreka. [CS&HC Sec. 253.2] Scenic Route 3 from: (a) Route 36 near Peanut to Route 299 near Douglas City. (b) Route 299 near Weaverville to Montague. [CS&HC Sec. 263.2] Points of Interest Dealing with Route 3, you'll be passing by several museums you can visit. For example, in the Trinity Center, there's what's called the Scott Museum. Near Yreka, there's the Siskyou County Museum, which contains Indian objects and displays of old and new industry goodies. Finally, there's the Klamath National Forest Interpretive Museum, near Montague, which displays exhibits that vary from wildlife to botany. The route cuts its way through Trinity National Forest. You will also be passing through the city of Fort Jones. You might also want to visit the Yreka Western Railroad near Yreka, which is home of the Blue Goose shortline railroad which runs through the Shasta valley. Notes The interesting thing that I spotted about this route is that the route ends in Montague and not in another route. That's about it, really.
