Rathasapthami is a special occasion in Tirumala. On that day Lord Venkateswara will be moving in 7 chariots. It is celebrated on Magha Shuddha Saptami (Comes around Feb). Below given is some detail of the event.

Ratha 1:   5:30am to 8:00 am
    SuryaPrabha Vahana
This starts at 5:30 am and the ratha will be stopped in the North-west corner of the temple until the first rays of Sun falls on the God. In that orange rays the chariot glows very nicely. Many people will be waiting there to see the event. There is a funny story behind it. Kubera from whom Venkateswara has taken money for his marriage resided in the north will stop him when he comes on this ratha and with his rays Sun pleads Kubera to leave the God to continue the ratha.
