New Gokul was launched in 2003 as 'Britain's only centre for cow protection and working oxen'. After numerous planning applications and even a public enquiry, Hertsmere Borough Councillors voted on 30th August to approve the scheme. The members were happy with the design, siting and sustainable character of the buildings and applauded the fact that the planning department had worked in partnership with the Manor's design team to develop the plans.

The good news comes at an appropriate time. It is a great honour for the community of Bhaktivedanta Manor to be able to offer this latest development at the time of Lord Krishna's appearance day. The new development is a much need replacement for the ageing barns and will include dedicated features such as an Ox Power House. The energy-efficient design incorporates solar panels and fits into the green belt surroundings.
