Lady Techster Softball Complex

The Louisiana Tech Lady Techster Softball Complex has been home to the university's program since its completion in the spring of 1982.

During the course of the 27-year history of the Lady Techster Softball Complex, Louisiana Tech teams have registered a 345-163 mark for a winning percentage of .686 while posting 19 winning seasons.

Built at a cost of $200,000 under the supervision of head coach Bill Galloway and former Tech President F. Jay Taylor, the 1,000-seat facility boasts brick-walled dugouts, wooden lockers, lights, batting cage and electronic scoreboard.

The natural grass turf extends 190 feet down the foul lines and 220 feet to straightaway center field, reaching the painted green wooden wall running along the outfield.

At the time of its completion in the early '80s, it was considered one of the finest softball facilities in the country as the nationally-ranked Louisiana Tech squads drew large crowds.

The complex has been home to some of the nation's top teams and players during its history as it housed three Louisiana Tech College World Series teams (1982, 1985, 1986), nine NCAA Tournament teams (1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1995, 2008) and five All-Americans.

The Louisiana Tech Lady Techster Softball Complex has seen a number of recent renovations over the past few years.

In 2005, a new brick backstop matching the brick dugouts was constructed behind home plate adding to the overall appearance of the stadium. In addition to the backstop, netting replaced the chain link screens behind home plate and down both the first and third base lines.

Prior to the 2007 season, a new $25,000 electronic scoreboard was installed behind the centerfield fence. The Fair-Play Model Softball Scoreboard which will be operated by a wireless controller system was purchased from Rainey Electronics, Inc. in Little Rock, Ark.

Plans for the construction of a new press box and other renovations are currently in discussion.
