FIRST QUARTER
Josh Cherry: The McCook native gets Kansas State on the board when his 44-yard field goal finishes off a 10-play, 58-yard drive. A 13-yard pass from Grant Gregory to Brandon Banks pass, with 15 yards tacked on for a horse-collar tackle, was the big play on the drive.
Zac Lee: The Husker quarterback completes third-down passes to Brandon Kinnie and Khiry Cooper to keep Nebraska's opening drive alive. Lee also had two other completions on the march from the Nebraska 28-yard line to a first down at the Kansas State 15.
John Houlik: The Kansas State linebacker knifes through to drop Roy Helu for a 3-yard loss on second down, and Nebraska's drive stalls when Lee overthrows a wide-open Mike McNeil in the end zone on a third-down play.
Alex Henery: He pulls Nebraska into a 3-3 tie with a 34-yard field goal, his 16th successful make in 19 attempts this season.
Eric Hagg: His blitz of Gregory on a first-down play from the Kansas State 37 forces the Wildcat quarterback to intentionally down the ball. Kansas State can't recover from the 14-yard loss, and punts three plays later.
SECOND QUARTER
Houlik: He hammers Lee after the Husker quarterback had slipped out of bounds after gaining 5 yards. The subsequent 15-yard late-hit penalty gives Nebraska a first down at the Kansas State 20.
McNeil: The Husker tight end again finds himself wide open in the secondary, and this time Lee hits him with a 17-yard scoring pass to push Nebraska into the lead.
Henery: With his punter's hat on, he pins Kansas State in a deep hole when his 45-yard kick takes a wicked right turn and goes out of bounds at the 1-yard line.
Tysyn Hartman: Nebraska fails to take advantage of tremendous field position when the Kansas State safety intercepts Lee's pass at the goal line and returns it 42 yards.
Larry Asante: Kansas State follows up Hartman's interception with a 24-yard pass completion but the Husker safety eventually kills the drive when he intercepts Gregory at the Nebraska 16.
THIRD QUARTER
Roy Helu: The Nebraska I-back rockets through a crease on a 14-yard touchdown run, one play after Lee and Niles Paul had hooked up on a 47-yard completion on a third-and-one from the Nebraska 39.
Gregory: The Wildcat quarterback completes passes of 18 and 16 yards and scrambles for a 13-yard gain in marching Kansas State from its 20 to a first down at the Nebraska 14.
Asante: Kansas State is a yard away from closing out an 80-yard scoring drive when the Nebraska safety separates running back Keithen Valentine from the football. Prince Amukamara recovers the loose ball at the Nebraska 5.
Collin Klein: The Kansas State wide receiver-quarterback takes a pitch on a reverse from Gregory, stops and threads a 27-yard pass to running back Daniel Thomas to the Nebraska 18. The Wildcats squander another opportunity four plays later when Cherry leaves a 32-yard field-goal attempt wide right.
Phillip Dillard: He shows great second-effort on a blitz on third down at the Nebraska 32. After Gregory eludes Dillard's initial thrust, the Husker linebacker tracks him down from the backside. His hit forces a Gregory fumble that Kansas State recovers but the Wildcats are forced to punt.
FOURTH QUARTER
Henery: He's had some beauties this season but the junior unleashes a near-perfect punt from the Nebraska 36. The kick carries 61 yards before ducking out of bounds at the Kansas State 3.
Joshua Moore: The Kansas State defender forces a Husker punt when he blindsides Lee on a cornerback blitz, dropping the quarterback for a 10-yard loss on a third-and-three play from the Wildcats' 46.
Thomas: On back-to-back plays, the Kansas State running back shows why someday he'll be making money on Sundays. He punishes the Huskers on a 10-yard run up the gut, then on the next play slips out of the backfield to take a pass, turning what looks to be no gain into a 13-yard advance.
Will Compton: The Nebraska linebacker is a step behind Kansas State tight end Jeron Mastrud but he gets a mitt on Gregory's pass, knocking the ball away inside the Nebraska 5.
Ndamukong Suh: He comes up with two big plays after Kansas State had reached the Nebraska 25 with less than six minutes to play. On first down, he bats down Gregory's pass. Two plays later, he teams up with Barry Turner to sack Gregory for a 2-yard loss. Kansas State's final hope evaporates when Gregory throws incomplete on fourth down.
